X STANDS FOR CROSSING THE DIVIDE

You see, being a generation X bunch you could say we are the ones ham-sandwiched between the ‘Boomers’ (Generation ME as we like to call them) and that webb-fingered, digital savvy Millennials, whose only experience of life-as-we-know-it is through the four corners of a flatscreen.

Only we don’t see it like that. We prefer to see ourselves as the Bridgers: those that criss-cross the cultural gulf between the old world and the new with the grace and ease of a pixelated pixy.

CELEBRATE LEGENDS

It’s inevitable, isn’t it? Whenever you have a revolution - oh yes, and we having one, make no mistake - you need interpreters. Badly. Those who can translate the themes and memes of the old world for the new, and celebrate a few legends in between.

And let’s not forget, we can even de-mystify, just a bit (let’s not get too carried away folks), the digitised new for those from the analogue old. For those people who feel a touch giddy in the shiny digital world, which is spinning a bit too fast for comfort. Maybe, just maybe, if you’re one of them, you’d like a safe haven in that world, a homing point, a virtual retreat.

SUBSTANCE AND TALENT

Like a comfy old sofa, a warm cardy and a pair of threadbare but foot-form familiar slippers in the cold, de-personalised digital desert, we’re that soothing voice in that babble-space. Out with the fleshy Kardashian’s and the vapid CBBers - they’re banished! We want our heroes to have substance AND talent. Hello McQueen and McCartney, Marilyn Monroe and Fleetwood Mac. This is your home. Our home.

So that amidst all that space junk and cultural white noise, there’s a calm whisper in your shell like : “It’s OK, you’re amongst friends here.”
